She had the temerity to ask critical questions of the Pearson juggernaut, this time regarding student teacher performanceevaluations. We wanted to share a new website today – Can’t Be Neutral.
It will be a must follow over the coming year as we watch Barbara Madeloni, Art Keene, Zac Del Negro, Susan Theberge and Dave Brown gear up to fight corporate education reform at UMass Amherst School of Education. They are Liberators whose actions we much watch and recognize as a support and model for teacher educators and student teachers everywhere. Read theirstory, their demands and contact them if you need advice or wish to join their fight. Do not remain silent.

And now, it is with great urgency and solidarity that we ask everyone to read the following and sign the petition addressed to Dean McCormick, urging her to take action on the following:
1. Reinstate Dr. Barbara Madeloni in her faculty position.
2. Issue a public apology to her, and to her students and colleagues, for this attack on academic freedom and its chilling effects.
3. Make a public commitment to cultivating a culture critical dialogue and inquiry within your School of Education, to examine the processes and effects of educational corporatization in public and higher education, including teacher education.
