This isn't an April Fools' joke, but I wish.
My home state of SC is considering legislation that would model state reading and grade retention policy on Just Read, Florida.
Adult leadership in a high-poverty state has expressed support for holding back children based on test scores that show that those children have the audacity to be impoverished....
SC is one of many states addicted to punishment but blind to inequity...

Ha I never knew that about SC. They do one of the worst unemployment rates in the country so I think their leadership needs to change some things.
