Given a Real Choice, Weingarten Goes With the Proven Corporate Education Stooge

You have to love the way Weingarten apologizes for Malloy, who has been the consistent enemy of teachers for 4 years.  A clip:

Malloy . . . upset Connecticut teachers in 2012 when he said, “Basically the only thing you have to do is show up for four years. Do that, and tenure is yours.”
In an interview outside the convention hall Tuesday, Weingarten said Malloy has privately expressed regret for those remarks.

“He was very regretful for the statement,” Weingarten told a group of reporters.

What will it take for hard-working dues-paying teachers to bounce this corporate boot licker from her job as AFT President?  Will they continue to pay dues to assure the extinction of their profession?

  1. As you know, real teachers don't get to vote in the AFT election. They got this whole game rigged better than Putin has rigged his.

I feel the same way! Randi worries about Randi and her political aspirations.. period! I don't consider her a real teacher and think that's why she doesn't stand up for our profession the way she should.

  3. This should come as no surprise. On June 9th, 2012 Randi Weingarten flew into Chicago on the day the Chicago teachers were taking a strike vote. She was not coming to support them, however, she came to participate with Rahm Emanuel on a panel at the Clinton Global Initiative Conference. She made her clearest statement about her political philosophy during the panel, which can be viewed here: http://tinyurl.com/qajj44x
