At the insistence of University of Memphis faculty members, David Rudd agreed last week to a meeting with university faculty and other concerned citizens at 5 PM February 3. He also agreed to schedule another meeting at a later date.
Today this email was sent to Faculty Senate members, rather than to the entire faculty:
The second thing you will notice are the time slots, either of which would make it very difficult for both faculty and, particularly, non-faculty to attend. Suddenly the time is changed to 8 AM one day before the initial meeting and with no community-wide email notice. This is what transparency means to corporate stooge, David Rudd.
If you are wondering what "urban specific" teacher training means, have a look at some examples of teaching like a robot making more robots.

In the spirit of transparency, the President and Provost of the University are hosting an open forum to discuss the partnership agreement between the University of Memphis and Shelby County Schools. The forum will be held in the University Center, River Room (300) tomorrow, February 3, 2015 at 8:00 a.m.The first thing that should be noted is that Relay, who is to be the recipient of the $5 million annual payment by the University of Memphis, is not even mentioned in this meeting notice. Suddenly the pretense is that the corporate giveaway is a partnership between UofM and SCS.
Given that some individuals may not be able to attend tomorrow’s meeting, the President and Provost are hosting a second meeting on the same subject Wednesday, February 18, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. in the University Center, River Room (300).
These open forums provide an opportunity for senators and other interested individuals to raise questions regarding program initiatives between the University of Memphis and Shelby County Schools. I trust you will take this opportunity to attend and raise your questions.
